Arusha National Park is the closest park to Arusha. This park offers both tall-grass woodlands, where buffalo, giraffes, bushbucks, zebra and warthogs roam, and heavily wooded forests with many monkeys and baboons. With advance booking, you can hike
with a ranger and experience the animals outside of a vehicle to get up close and personal. There are seven lakes within the park that house thousands of flamingos and other water birds.
The temperature ranges between 55- and 100-degrees Fahrenheit (13-41 Celsius), depending on the area and elevation. The dry season is from July to October and the remainder of the year there can be rain.
