Tarangire National Park is one of the smaller parks in Tanzania, but hosts a large number of animals. It is home to one of the largest elephant populations in Africa. There is also migration activity during the dry season, when more than 250,000 animals enter the park. Other common animals in Tarangire include leopards, lions, hyenas, cheetah, monkeys, and over 545 species of birds.
Also available in this park are hot-air balloon rides for a once-in-a lifetime opportunity.
Throughout the year, Tarangire National Park weather is generally warm and dry, with the daytime temperatures ranging from 75- 86 degrees Fahrenheit (24-30 degrees Celsius), while the night temperatures can drop to as low as 55 – 64 Fahrenheit (13-18 degrees Celsius).
